Downtown Beloit Criterium Bike Races
Downtown Beloit will be abuzz with excitement on July 12th as it plays host to one leg of The 2012
International Cycling Classic – Also known as “SUPERWEEK” a 17 day event held in local city centers
throughout Wisconsin and Illinois. The event will take place in historic downtown Beloit and be a great
opportunity for local businesses and the city as a whole to showcase everything Beloit has to offer.
Crowds expected to range in the 1000s will enjoy a truly unique experience as they witness world class
bike racing at its finest. The short course will run through downtown streets allowing spectators to not
only enjoy the race itself, but also take part in the many attractions and businesses downtown Beloit has
The Bike Race Block Party” will be the main social area during
the race, at 300 block of State St. between Broad and West Grand.
The races will run from 10am until 7pm, with up to 1000 participants and spectators throughout the
day, with the largest crowds gathering from 4pm onward.
