Children’s Archeology Days

An event every week that begins at 9:00am on Wednesday, repeating until June 28, 2017

Archaeology Days will be in full swing on the grounds of Macktown Living History Education Center through the month of June, 2017. Students from McHenry County College, William Rainey Harper College and Elgin Community College will be participating in field schools, led by Jay Martinez and assisted by Steve Katz from Midwest Archaeological Research Services (MARS.)

Under the guidance of the MARS Archaeologists, adults and children will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the area and search for artifacts dating back 8,000 years.

The Children’s Dig (ages 9-12) will be held on Wednesdays – June 14, 21, 28,   9 am –3 pm.

Cost is $25 per session. Registration is limited to eight participants per session.
