Sunday, September 12, 2010 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM - Heritage Days-Voyageur Paddle Trip on the Rock River

Two Hour Paddle Trip from Beloit to Macktown. Native American Indians and Voyageur Fur Traders were the first people to occupy the lands of Beloit. Joseph Tebo, a French trapper & fur trader was the first white settler in Beloit. Stephen Mack was a trader who established a trading post in Macktown (now Rockton). Join us for a FREE group outing with Paddle and Trail of Loves Park as we re-create a voyageur paddle trip down the Rock River such as the Voyageurs would have taken to bring their furs to trade for goods. As we come ashore at Macktown, we’ll be welcomed by costumed greeters, enjoy a taste of Burgoo Stew and have a tour at the Stephen Mack Trading Post.

TRIP NOTES: For experienced paddlers, reservations required.
